Where WSO2 Enterprise Integrator Fits Today
If your team stills calls it the WSO2 ESB or EI, plenty of others do too. The ESB became Enterprise Integrator, which was replaced by Micro Integrator, which now sits inside WSO2 Integrator. Alongside it you get a Ballerina-based low-code designer and streaming integration, on VMs, Kubernetes or as SaaS through Devant.
New to WSO2? We’ll show you where it fits next to what you already run. Already on it? Our engineers build new integration, modernize EI projects and keep production stable.
What You Can Build with WSO2 Integration
WSO2 Integration Services
Tellestia helps enterprise teams build, modernize and operate integrations using WSO2 Integrator and Micro Integrator.
Strategy and Architecture
Integration Assessment:
Your systems, data flows and volumes mapped, with WSO2’s fit made clear.
Architecture Design:
API-led, event-driven or hybrid patterns your team can maintain.
Platform Comparison:
WSO2 against MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato, from a team that delivers all four.
Delpoyment Planning:
Self-hosted, Kubernetes or Devant, chosen for your skills and constraints.
Proof of Concept
Your Real Use Cases:
Two of your actual integrations built on WSO2, not a canned demo.
Load Testing:
Throughput and latency measured against the volumes you expect.
Skills Check:
See how your developers find the tools and what training they’d need.
Go or No-Go:
A clear recommendation, delivery plan and indicative cost at the end.
Integration Development
New Integrations:
Built to your standards, with error handling, logging and retries from day one.
API Exposure:
Data sources and services exposed as REST, SOAP or GraphQL APIs.
Custom Mediators:
Custom mediators and connectors for in-house systems with no ready-made option.
Team Extension:
WSO2 developers who join your sprints for as long as you need.
EI and ESB Modernization
Artefact Inventory:
Every proxy, API, sequence and endpoint in your EI or ESB estate, catalogued.
Change Analysis:
The mediators, message stores and configs that need changing for MI.
Phased Migration:
Integrations moved in waves, running side by side until each is proven.
Container Readiness:
Migrated integrations packaged for Docker and Kubernetes as part of the move.
Performance and Uptime
Performance Tuning:
Slow flows, memory pressure and thread bottlenecks found and fixed under load.
Message Reliability:
Message stores, processors and dead-letter handling set up so nothing is lost.
High Availability:
Clustered deployments that keep running when a node fails.
Monitoring with Orion:
End-to-end transaction tracing, with alerts before users notice a problem.
Deployment and Support
Kubernetes and OpenShift:
Helm-based deployments with autoscaling and rolling updates.
CI/CD Pipelines:
Automated build, test and promotion of integrations between environments.
Version Upgrades:
Moves to current WSO2 releases, tested before they reach production.
24×7 Support:
Monitoring, fixes and incident response through WSO2 Managed Services.

WSO2 Integration FAQs
What’s the difference between EI, MI and WSO2 Integrator?
Enterprise Integrator was WSO2’s all-in-one integration server. Micro Integrator replaced it with a lighter runtime built for containers, using the same Synapse-based configuration. WSO2 Integrator is the current product family, made up of Micro Integrator, a Ballerina-based designer and streaming integration.
Can our Enterprise Integrator projects move to Micro Integrator?
Usually, yes. Both use the same mediation language, so most proxies, sequences and APIs move across with modest changes. The real work tends to sit in deprecated mediators, message stores, configuration files and deployment scripts. We start with an inventory so you know the effort before you commit.
Should we use Micro Integrator or the Ballerina designer?
Micro Integrator suits teams with Synapse skills and existing EI projects. The Ballerina-based designer suits new work where you want visual design, the option to drop into code and AI assistance. Plenty of teams use both.
Is WSO2 a good MuleSoft alternative for integration?
For many teams, yes, especially where open-source code, deployment flexibility and subscription cost matter. We deliver both platforms, so we can compare them on your own integrations. Our WSO2 vs MuleSoft guide is a good place to start.
Can you move us from MuleSoft, TIBCO or BizTalk to WSO2?
Yes. We inventory your current flows, estimate the effort and migrate in phases, with both platforms running side by side until each flow is proven.
Does WSO2 Integrator run on Kubernetes?
Yes. Micro Integrator starts quickly and has a small footprint, which suits containers. We deploy it on Kubernetes, OpenShift and managed cloud Kubernetes.
Is there a SaaS version of WSO2 Integrator?
Yes. Devant is WSO2’s integration platform as a service. We can help you decide between Devant and self-hosting.
