Most legacy middleware estates were never designed. They grew. An orchestration added for one ERP rollout, a custom adapter written by a contractor who left in 2014, a few hundred EDI maps nobody has opened since go-live. The platform still runs, but every change takes weeks, the people who understand it are getting harder to find, and the renewal quote keeps going up.
Tellestia migrates these estates to modern iPaaS one interface group at a time. We start by finding out what you actually have, including the undocumented dependencies, the hardcoded endpoints and the business rules buried in transformation logic. Then we rebuild on your target platform, run old and new side by side until the outputs match, and switch over in waves your operations team can live with.
What Changes After You Leave Legacy Middleware Behind
The goal is not a new logo on the same problems. It is an integration layer your team can change, monitor and pay for on its own terms.

Our Legacy Middleware Migration Services
From the first interface inventory to the day the old servers are switched off.
We scan your existing platform to build a complete interface catalogue: endpoints, adapters, schedules, message volumes, error rates and every system each flow touches. Each interface is scored on complexity and business criticality, then grouped into migration waves. You get a target architecture, a platform fit recommendation and a costed roadmap before any rebuild starts.
A lift and shift of old orchestrations onto a new platform carries the old problems with it. We rebuild each flow using the target platform’s native patterns, extract shared mappings and error handling into reusable components, and retire interfaces that no longer carry traffic. Business rules hidden in custom code are documented and kept.
Partner connections are where migrations usually stall. We move trading partner profiles, AS2 and SFTP endpoints, certificates and X12 or EDIFACT maps, then coordinate testing with each partner so acknowledgements, sequence numbers and compliance checks behave exactly as before.
Old and new run in parallel against the same inputs until outputs match. Cutover happens in waves with an agreed rollback point for each. After go-live, our team stays on for hypercare, then hands over to your team or to Tellestia Middleware Managed Services.
Why Teams Choose Tellestia for Middleware Migration
We have spent years on both sides of the migration: running legacy integration estates and building on the platforms that replace them.

Tell us which platform you run today and roughly how many interfaces it carries. An integration architect will come back with a first view of scope, effort and the waves we would suggest.
Legacy Middleware Migration: Frequently Asked Questions
What is legacy middleware migration?
It is the move of your integration layer, meaning the ESB, EAI or B2B platform that connects your applications and partners, from an older on-premises product to a modern iPaaS. Interfaces are rebuilt on the new platform, tested against the old outputs and switched over in planned waves. The applications they connect usually stay as they are.
How do I know it is time to migrate?
The common signals are a runtime that is out of standard support or close to it, a licence renewal that no longer makes sense for the volume you run, changes that queue behind one or two specialists, and new SaaS or API work that the platform handles poorly. If two or more apply, an assessment will usually pay for itself.
How long does a migration take?
It depends on interface count and complexity far more than on the source platform. A focused estate of 50 to 100 interfaces often moves in a few months; large estates with heavy EDI or custom code run longer and are split into waves so value lands early. The assessment gives you a wave plan with dates.
Can we migrate without downtime?
For most flows, yes. Old and new platforms run in parallel, and each interface switches over only when its outputs match. Where a short freeze is unavoidable, such as a partner certificate change, we schedule it with you and the partner in advance.
Which iPaaS should we migrate to?
The right answer depends on your application landscape, B2B volume, API strategy, hosting rules and in-house skills. Because we deliver on Boomi, Workato, WSO2, MuleSoft and Frends, we compare them against your requirements and show the trade-offs openly.
Can existing maps and business logic be reused?
The logic can, the code rarely can. We extract the rules from existing maps, orchestrations and custom components, document them, and rebuild them in the target platform’s native format. Automated conversion helps for simple maps but is checked by hand before it goes live.
